The school has been in existence for 44 years since 1975.
The principle, Mr. P.J. Steenkamp, took over the role as principal in 2019. He stepped up from his previous role as deputy principal for the past 10 years.
As graduate students of UWC, we identified Tygersig primary school as part of our social development project to assist and address some of the challenges.
We assisted with the cleaning of the outer parameter of the sport grounds by removing the rubble as well as the bushes and thorns. We also re-painted the netball grounds, as well as the soccer and rugby field boundary lines.
Due to the challenges we faced being unsuccessful in procuring a sponsor to assist with the financial support for the required materials, we as students took it upon ourselves to fund this project.
